In another strategic expansion move, Raça Agro has signed an agreement to acquire Agroline, a retail network currently owned by Axia Agro.
The companies did not disclose the transaction value.
The deal is subject to approval by Brazil’s antitrust authority, the Conselho Administrativo de Defesa Econômica (Cade). Both companies expect the review to proceed under a summary procedure, which allows for faster approval, potentially still within this year.
With the acquisition of Agroline, Raça Agro aims to strengthen its position in the livestock input market and gain operational scale to reach an annual revenue target of R$ 1 billion within the next three years.
According to João Antônio Fagundes, the group’s chief executive, this marks the company’s third strategic acquisition.
Previous acquisitions include:
Suprema, a retail network in northern Mato Grosso
A pasture seed processing unit
Together, these transactions totaled approximately R$ 40 million in investments.
The acquisition of Agroline — previously a direct competitor in the livestock input segment — is expected to generate an even greater impact on the group’s operations.
This move reflects a broader consolidation trend within Brazil’s agricultural retail sector, especially during a favorable period for the cattle industry.
Raça Agro previously operated stores in 20 cities and currently maintains a presence in 17 locations. In addition to its retail network, the group also operates:
A feed manufacturing plant
A pasture seed processing facility
This vertically integrated structure strengthens the company’s operational efficiency and enhances its ability to serve livestock producers.
The agreement between Raça Agro and Agroline highlights the ongoing professionalization and scaling process within Brazil’s livestock input industry.
Companies with integrated operations, industrial capacity, and expanded regional presence tend to gain competitiveness, operational efficiency, and stronger negotiation power.
For livestock producers, such consolidation may translate into improved service standardization, broader product portfolios, and stronger regional brands.
The acquisition of Agroline represents another significant milestone in Raça Agro’s expansion strategy and reinforces the positive momentum within Brazil’s cattle industry.
The livestock input market continues to consolidate, with structured groups seeking scale, efficiency, and territorial expansion.
If approved by Cade, the transaction is expected to strengthen Raça Agro’s position as a leading regional supplier of livestock production solutions.
