Welcome to SGM Seeds , a Brazilian company that prides itself on its foundation of trust and commitment to excellence. The name SGM is inspired by the Tupi people, an ancient indigenous group that inhabited the Amazon region. As part of the Tupi-Guarani linguistic family, “Guayí” means “good seed” and “Moara” means “the one that helps to sprout”. At SGM Seeds, “Guayí” represents our tireless pursuit of working only with the best seed production fields and “Moara” symbolizes our rigorous production process, as a way to always guaranteeing the best germination. Our commitment is clear: to produce seeds in the best fields and process them with excellence to guarantee their exceptional germination, ensuring that all of them reach their maximum growth and productivity potential.

To ensure quality, efficiency and cost reduction, we developed the “BUENA RUTA” management system internally . Using various productivity and quality techniques, it ensures that the entire SGM management process is carried out in a standardized, efficient and effective manner, thereby bringing more quality and avoiding unnecessary processes and costs.
Embrapa has the largest forage plant germplasm bank in the tropical world. We have a spectacular collection of plants from the genera Brachiaria, Panicum, Andropogon, Paspalum, Stylosanthes and Cajanus cajan. With the creation of an agreement with Unipasto , Embrapa Gado de Corte gained market and financial support to accelerate its plant breeding program and create new cultivars to intensify animal production in Brazil. The first fruit of this agreement was the launch of BRS Piatã, a Brachiaria brizantha, cultivated in Brazil and throughout Latin America, followed by others, such as BRS Zuri. In 1990, they began to cross different species (Brachiarias) and lines (Panicum) to obtain hybrids. This work resulted in three advanced products: a hybrid Brachiaria and two hybrid cultivars of Panicum maximum. In 2015, we launched the first P. maximum hybrid, BRS Tamani. Then in 2017, another P. maximum, BRS Kenya, and finally a hybrid Brachiaria, BRS Ipyporã. New releases are on the way!!
As a Gold member of Unipasto, SGM can offer its customers first-hand all the new hybrid cultivars launched, thus contributing to the success of their agricultural activities.
