Just a few decades ago, tropical grasses were seen as major enemies of agriculture. Classified as hard-to-control weeds, they were a constant headache for farmers.
With the arrival of high-power herbicides, this scenario changed completely. These plants went from being a problem to becoming an opportunity. The cultivation and harvesting of tropical grass seeds began to generate extra income, especially in crop rotation systems that helped recover soil fertility — a practice known as “crop quarantine.”
